panellist Lisa Riley is looking better than ever, having shrunk from a size 28 to a size 12.
While she’s understandably overjoyed with the results of her whopping 12st weight loss, Lisa, 41, recently revealed she is haunted by one regret – that her beloved mum, Cath, isn’t alive to see her now.
Opening up about her body transformation, the actress choked back tears as she explained how her late mum – who passed away in 2012 – would have been ‘ blown away’ by her shrinking figure.
‘More than anything, I regret that she is not here to see it,’ Lisa confessed.
Continuing that she wishes she could ‘ have done it sooner’, Lisa admitted she’s reminded almost daily of what her mum would have thought.
‘The other day I found the outfit I wore to her funeral. You could house five people in it,’ Lisa said. ‘In my head, that’s the last outfit she saw me in. Now I’m a fifth of that size.
‘She would look at me in my bathing suit now in utter shock that I have done it,’ the former Emmerdale star added.
Despite her weight loss being tinged with this sadness, Lisa’s results mean all the more to her considering how gruelling the process has been.
As shown in her new ITV documentary – Lisa Riley’s Baggy Body Club, which details her weight-loss journey – the TV star dropped an astounding 12st, but was left with 1 st of excess skin.
Speaking about her surplus flesh, she admitted her disgust, ‘I was revolted by my own image. This saggy mess was quashing the brilliance of what I had done.’
On the documentary, Lisa further revealed her torment. ‘After all this weight loss, I’ve been left with an overwhelming amount of saggy skin, it’s everywhere, I get angry, I get annoyed, I get frustrated but now it’s getting upsetting and it’s now getting painful.’
So Lisa decided to go under the knife. Now, two operations down, she’s thrilled with the results.
Explaining she’s increased the amount of exercise, Lisa continued, ‘Everything is becoming muscle and toned in the right places. I think my mum would be blown away.’
