NOT SO SWEET
Simple sugars, or free sugars as they’re often called, are worth cutting down. These are the simplest carbohydrates, like syrup, fruit juice, as well as the sugars found in cakes and fizzy drinks. Current guidelines suggest you should have fewer than seven teaspoons of sugar a day to avoid weight gain. Foods high in sugar often contain little nutritional value other than being high in calories, so are worth reducing.
