The signs are pointing towards a proposal from Harry to his American love, Meghan Markle
The rumours have been swirling for months that Prince Harry is gearing up to put a ring on it, and announce his engagement to American Suits actress Meghan Markle.
The pair have been dating for over a year, and it’s been clear from the start that they’re both pretty smitten.
Harry took the unusual step of releasing a statement, back in November, confirming their relationship and asking the press for privacy – a sign that he was deadly serious about the stunning actress.
Toronto-based Meghan, who is divorced, was spotted cheering Harry on at the polo back in May, and was by Harry’s side at a series of weddings over the summer, including the Jamaican nuptials of Harry’s best pal, Tom Inskip, and the reception of Pippa Middleton’s bash.
At the time of going to press – we don’t know for sure – it may well be that she’ll be popping up at Harry’s baby, the Invictus Games, staged in Toronto this week, too.
And then, of course, there was their romantic trip to Botswana to celebrate Meghan’s birthday.
She has also been giving some serious thought to her public profile, having given up her lifestyle blog, The Tig, while her Suits co-star Patrick J Adams revealed he would no longer be sharing images of the actress, as a cute picture of them sharing a kiss went viral.
‘Oh, yeah. I live in a world where you can’t post things about Meghan,’ he quipped.
But while she and Harry have been clocking up Air Miles crossing the Atlantic in order to snatch some time together, there are clues that Meghan may be preparing to cross the pond to move in with the Prince.
Meghan has cancelled the lease on her Audi car early (according to the firm), telling them she’s planning on spending more time in London and, by Christmas, she’ll no longer be committed to filming legal drama Suits.
Then there’s the interview she gave to Vanity Fair, where she said, ‘ We’re two people who are happy and in love.’
And don’t forget that, at 36, Meghan may have an eye on her biological clock, especially since Harry, 33, has already declared he’d ‘ love’ to be a dad.
Meghan’s brother, Thomas Markle, 51, spoke for us all when he said, ‘I hope Prince Harry proposes. She’s a hot commodity right now – he better get on it.’
