Wedding bells for Gabby and Marcel?!
An announcement could well be imminent for one of our favourite Love Island couples...
It’s been a whirlwind since they shot to fame on sizzling summer reality TV show Love Island, which brings a group of ‘islanders’ to a villa in Majorca – and sees them couple up in order to survive. When best met Gabby Allen and Marcel Somerville, they were as sweet, photogenic and loved-up as they came across on TV. And three months on, it’s clear they’re still ‘totally each other’s type on paper’ (to quote a much-loved Love Island phrase). Gabby and Marcel, who came fourth in the show, are excitedly talking about their future plans.
Despite fellow contestants doubting their feelings for each other – and Gabby failing a lie detector test about her feelings for Marcel – she swiftly rubbishes any suggestion that they’re in this for the fame.
‘This is the real thing! We even moved into a flat in east London together last month,’ says the reality TV star.
‘ Yes, Love Island has been an amazing career boost, but the most amazing part of this was that we came out of it with each other.’
And moving in together, she adds, has made their relationship even stronger.
So will Gabby and Blazing Squad member Marcel now follow in the footsteps of Love Island pals Dom Lever and Jess Shears, and tie the knot?
‘ Well… ’ giggles dance instructor Gabby, who has just launched her own clothing line with Quiz, ‘one of my fingers is looking a bit bare, so hopefully an engagement is on the cards. Marcel’s already been looking at rings!’
If you’re thinking, ‘Slow down, guys,’ Gabby also says that they have no desire to rush into having children.
‘ We’ve talked about kids, but I don’t think it will happen for a while – maybe a few years. I’m still only 25, so we’ve got time. Marcel’s a bit older – 31 – but lads can be. They don’t have the same pressure as women when it comes to having babies,’ adds Gabby.
It doesn’t stop the young couple daydreaming, though.
Gabby even confessed recently that she and her Love Island beau are already ‘debating what school our children will go to’.
