Marbled macarons

Eye-catching food is part and parcel of Pinterest, but there aren’t many eatables we look at and imagine we could actually have a go at making ourselves – until we found marbled macarons, that is. Now, we don’t suggest actually making the popular patisserie beauties – who has the time for that? – but you can have plenty of fun recreating the colourful paint-splash effect on the surface. Using a clean paintbrush, take either food colouring or readymade icing and apply it to the top. The best thing is that you can’t mess this up – the smudgier the result, the better!
