Vaginal discharge may or may not be a sign of a problem. Some women simply have more discharge than others – this can also be affected by the contraceptive pill and hormone replacement therapy. Or, the discharge may be due to an infection, such as thrush, or an overgrowth of bacteria leading to bacterial vaginosis. Never ignore vaginal discharge – always discuss it with your doctor, so you can get tests, if necessary.
