It’s frying pans at dawn as the feud between celeb chefs Jamie Oliver and Gordon Ramsay intensifies
They’ve had an ongoing feud for more than eight years - and now it looks as though things have boiled over again between celebrity chefs Jamie Oliver and Gordon Ramsay.
Jamie, 42, has claimed Gordon is ‘jealous’ of him, adding that Gordon’s wife, Tana, is a better cook than he is. Gordon, 50, has in turn called Jamie ‘fat’. Boys, boys… Things have got more serious than name-calling, though, after Gordon claimed Jamie referenced his wife Tana’s miscarriage when he talked about how many kids they both had – and vowed never to speak to Jamie again.
Demanding an apology from Jamie, who said, ‘He’s got four kids and I’ve got five,’ Gordon claims Tana was crushed by the comments – she tragically suffered a miscarriage at five months last year.
‘Jamie turned round and said, “I’ve got five kids, he’s got four kids.” To judge someone else’s family on the amount of kids you have, that’s…’ Gordon said in a recent interview.
‘Boys will always butt heads, but Tana was mortified. I mean really mortified.’
Gordon went on to hit out at Jamie for his anti-sugar campaigns, saying, ‘None of that was spoken about when he was with Sainsbury’s for 10 years. And, no disrespect, but we’re chefs, not politicians…
‘Sadly, the only time he opens his mouth is when he’s got something to promote.’
The beef began years ago, when Jamie criticised Gordon for allegedly insulting Australian TV presenter Tracy Grimshaw, following an interview she’d done with him.
Gordon reportedly showed an audience of about 3,000 people a photograph of a naked woman, and told them, ‘That’s Tracy Grimshaw… she needs to see Simon Cowell’s Botox doctor.’
Jamie, whose net worth is estimated at £240 million, then chastised Gordon, saying, ‘Aussies aren’t forgiving. It’s never good to criticise a woman, especially when they’re loved by their country and you do it on national TV.’
Gordon, whose net worth is thought to be around £120 million, hit back, calling Jamie a ‘one-pot wonder’, before Jamie retaliated by saying Gordon needed to have Botox.
The tiff continued when, months later, Gordon told TMZ that the last time he complained about food ‘was at Jamie Oliver’s restaurant’.
