Festive family photos
‘Ihave a big family, but my aunts, uncles and cousins all live hundreds of miles away from our home town of London, so it’s often just me and my mum, dad and brother, Paul, on Christmas Day itself. So, every year, Dad would organise a family photoshoot for a picture to send to the family so they could see how much we’d grown. Dad decided that each picture would have a theme. So, one year, we were a mini Mary and Joseph, the next we were snapped jumping out of a cardboard box covered in tacky wrapping paper. It was great fun. By the time I was 12 and Paul was 10, we’d run out of ideas, so we used a photo of us surfing in Cornwall and sprinkled glitter over it to make it look like snow. Sadly, now we’re older, this tradition has been abandoned, but I can’t wait to start it up again when I have children of my own to dress up and embarrass!’
