SUNDAY, BBC ONE, 8PM NEW SERIES Our Sunday night favourite returns – so settle down for the series that combines nostalgia with a dose of social realism – and of course, lots of cute babies. The new series (can you believe it’s the seventh?) kicks off with the residents of Nonnatus House in the grip of a viciously cold winter, known as the Big Freeze of 1963. As Poplar is rocked by power cuts and blizzards, the residents band together to battle the elements. And there’s a new midwife in town, Nurse Lucille Anderson, played by rising star Leonie Elliott. Meanwhile, Shelagh and Dr Turner have welcomed a new baby boy, and Barbara and Tom are settling into married life.
