Dear Gloria
We’re booking our summer holidays in Greece soon, but my husband simply doesn’t understand my fear of stripping off in front of other holidaymakers. I want to do a bit of sunbathing, but I want to find the most secluded stretch of beach possible. I’m not happy with my weight, and having all my wobbly bits on view as we and a load of strangers (probably tanned, skinny ones) squash on to sun beds like sardines is my idea of hell!

You obviously love the beach, and sunbathing, but not the part that involves stripping off, and I imagine you are not alone there. But honestly? There is no need to have that dread these days. There are lots of very accommodating and pretty cover-ups, which you can put on over your bikini or costume before you go the beach. Then, if you find that nice, secluded spot you were talking about in your letter, you can be a little bit more
adventurous. But for goodness’ sake, though, make sure to go on holiday and enjoy yourself – after all, isn’t that what the experience of going abroad is all about?
