‘Whether we like it or not, selfies and social media have changed how we judge ourselves. If you don’t like how you look, well, just a flick of the thumb and you can swipe away the years. Sadly, the downside of this is that many women are now so used to looking at their perfect images that when they see themselves in a mirror without any filters, they think they’re a less beautiful version of the image they see on their screens, and it is this pressure to be selfie perfect that is, according to research, taking its toll and making more and more women consider surgical procedures.’
