‘I want to grow old glamorously...’

Amanda Holden seems to be steadfastly refusing to age! The 47-year-old Britain’s

Got Talent judge previously claimed she’d ditched Botox in favour of ‘facials’. The mother-of-two maintained she’d given up on the injections in 2012, following a traumatic birth with her daughter.

‘Along the lines of Kylie when she had cancer, I gave it up after Hollie,’ she said. ‘For the last three years, I haven’t bothered. Instead, I have been having Collagen Wave facials by a wonderful lady called Nilam Patel. It’s done amazing things to my face.’

Yet, following her startlingly wrinkle-free appearance in February on Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, fans on Twitter seemed distracted by the star’s appearance. One wrote, ‘ Wow. Amanda Holden is a proper Botox queen. She can’t even move her face. Silly woman.’

Alex Karidis, plastic surgeon at The Hospital of St John & St Elizabeth, London, tells best he thinks the star is getting some help in turning back time.

‘Smiling intensely, you normally get more of a starburst appearance but, likely through Botox, Amanda’s facial muscles aren’t moving in the same way. You can barely see any creases.’

You could forgive Amanda for feeling the strain to stay youthful. Simon Cowell himself could well be one source of pressure.

Amanda previously revealed, ‘Simon has very strict rules about the way women should look. Plucked, waxed, made up and groomed. I agree with him. It’s the Joan Collins method of growing old glamorously.’ Glam? No doubt. Naturally, though? The jury’s out…
