Researcher­s at the University of Sydney have found that yoga is good for your mental as well as your physical health as we get older. A survey of almost 800 people found that those aged over 60 scored better for mood if they practised yoga at least once a week. Here’s three ways to make exercise easy:

Train first thing in the morning. You have your biggest supply of energy at this time of day. For even more fat loss, don’t eat before you train.

Buddy up with an exercise partner. You won’t want to let them down, which will spur you on.

Walk with a steps tracker or a dog. An app or Fitbit will help motivate you to reach 10k of steps a day.
