Gaunt Cheryl: Shock pictures inside!
Following the breakdown of another relationship, it looks like Cheryl’s back on the ‘heartbreak diet’
It’s no secret that Cheryl Tweedy – or is it Cole? Or Fernandez-Versini? – has had her share of very public break-ups, having dealt with two divorces and multiple romantic run-ins before.
This time, her split after two years from 24-year-old One Direction star Liam Payne, father to her son Bear, one, means she’ll be facing life as a single mum. And, judging by recent pictures, it looks like history is repeating itself.
When Cheryl attended X Factor chief Simon Cowell’s annual summer party, less than a week after announcing her split from Liam, the former Girls Aloud singer was looking very thin – her face, in particular, shockingly gaunt.
Fans noticed, too, tweeting, ‘How’s she that skinny?’ and ‘She’s unrecognisable.’
Sadly, it seems that, whenever the naturally slim 35-year-old is under pressure or experiencing relationship difficulties, her already slight frame shrinks even more.
In 2008, when she joined ITV’s X Factor panel for the first time, Cheryl, then Mrs Ashley Cole, was dealing with infidelity rumours linked to her footballer husband.
She’d been through the relationship wars, and it was clear she’d lost some serious weight in the 10 weeks between the first audition shows and the live shows.
That was the first instance of what you might call the ‘ heartbreak diet’. Indeed, Cheryl and Ashley divorced in 2010, after four years.
Fast-forward to 2014, when the Geordie beauty married French businessman JeanBernard Fernandez-Versini, and Cheryl had a period of looking happy and healthy, with the hint of a few curves.
Then, in 2015, the singer appeared on The X Factor and people were stunned. Even The Apprentice’s Alan Sugar commented, ‘Cheryl is now too thin.’ In December, rumours began to swirl that her marriage was in trouble, and by October 2016, she was granted her second divorce.
Tipped to make a TV talent show return this year, as well as bringing out new music, we hope the Fight For This Love singer bounces back. It’s sad to see Cheryl’s troubles etched so vividly on her face.
