Calum: I am, but I’m determined to keep that sunshine feelgood factor alive well into autumn. So, here are the five habits I’ll be adopting – and I suggest you do, too, to increase your energy and feel good. Firstly, try investing in a juicer. Every morning, indulge your digestive system with a fresh juice made with fruit and veggies, and add raw ginger and a peeled lime. The citrus is great for your gut, and ginger gives you an awesome energy kick. Secondly, if you are a coffee drinker, switch to organic coffee and add a tablespoon of organic coconut oil. This is called ‘bulletproof coffee’, and you’ll find it will fill you up until lunchtime! Thirdly, put some cardio into your day. I know, doing exercise first thing in the morning sounds like it might drain you. Trust me, a brisk walk, bike ride or run with the dog will get your heartbeat going and release endorphins. You’ll feel energised, and your body will burn fat all day.

Fourthly, be aware of getting sucked into your phone, computer or tablet. Screen time drains us. For those of us who work on screens, the vital thing is to take lots of screen breaks – at least a couple of minutes every hour.

And, when you get the bus or train home, do you really need to stare at your phone? Look up, take in what’s going on outside and really appreciate your surroundings.

My fifth recommendation is to limit red meat in your diet. I’m meat-free, and I think it’s been one of my healthiest choices. I feel less weighed down, as if my body doesn’t have to work so hard to digest my food. Or, you could try the 5:2 method – go veggie for two days a week and see how it feels…

The power is yours!
