Holly & hubby: Further apart than ever?

Is the mum-of-three choosing her TV career over family life?

‘These are big shoes, not to fill, just to keep warm for a little bit’

It’s official! ITV’s golden girl, Holly Willoughby, will be jetting Down Under this year to join pal Declan Donnelly presenting I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

Confirming her new role filling in for Ant McPartlin, Holly said, ‘I couldn’t be more excited to have been asked to stand alongside Dec. These are big shoes not to fill, just to keep warm for a little bit.’

Since Ant announced he would be taking the rest of the year off to concentrate on his recovery from addiction issues, Holly has been a contender for the job – but questions have been raised as to how the mum of three, 37, will manage the logistics of jetting so far away from her young family.

Her kids – Harry, nine, Belle, seven, and Chester, three – are still small, and then there’s husband Dan Baldwin. Flying thousands of miles away for a jungle adventure would mean the couple – who are already busy with work commitments – being further apart than ever.

Fans are divided about Holly as stand-in. One called it ‘truly the best choice’, while another added, ‘Congrats @hollywills, finally a real jungle Queen and Dec’s new sidekick’.

These endorsements were countered by angry tweeters, who questioned Holly’s decision to take on the role.

One wrote, ‘@hollywills You have young kids at home, but TV comes first! You need a head check’.

While another slammed, ‘Do you ever get to see your children? Obviously money is your vice’.

There’s no doubt Holly’s a good fit to step into Ant’s flipflops. She knows Dec well, and she’s used to working as a TV double act alongside TV hubby Phillip Schofield.

So, the Holly and Dec show Down Under? We’re all for it.
