When Victoria Beckham launched an app for fans to help celebrate 10 years as a fashion designer, it led to some surprising answers…
When the former Spice Girl launched a chatbot with Facebook recently, fans were left both giggling and downright shocked by the apparent replies.
Explaining the app last week, the fashion designer, 44, called it the ‘chatbot version of me, Victoria Beckham’, which would keep all her followers up to date with ‘everything that’s happening at London Fashion Week’.
But once it was up and running, the questions coming in quickly got personal, with the replies churned out by the robotic app, rather unfortunately for Posh, clearly bearing no resemblance to how the ‘real’ Victoria would have answered.
When asked by a user if divorcing her husband David, 43, would make her happy, the bot answered, ‘ Very’!
In response to another question, ‘Does David’s money make you happy?’ the bot again replied, ‘ Very.’
As curiosity peaked, the bot was then asked, ‘Are you happy with David?’
‘I can’t tell you anything more’ responded the chatbot, adding a zipped mouth emoji. Alex Miller, one of the app’s creators, later explained, ‘The natural language processor had been programmed to recognise “Are you happy?” and respond, “Very.” This has now been fixed.’
Still, you can imagine what poor Posh’s reaction must have been when she heard about the wayward bot’s answers.
Victoria is said to have a wicked sense of humour – she’ll certainly need it after this latest fiasco!
Even so, it’s not exactly what Brand Beckham needs right now.
This all comes not long after reports that her fashion brand is losing as much as £4,000 a day, which is hot on the heels of rumours that Victoria and David clashed over who in the family should be part of the cover image for a glossy magazine shoot recently.
They say never work with children or animals – Victoria should add ‘robots’ to that list!
