The real reason the TOWIE star has signed up for Dancing On Ice…
If she can fall through a trap door while attempting to present a gong at the Teen Choice Awards, we can only imagine what entertainment Gemma Collins will bring to the ice rink!
But ‘The GC’ has revealed her real reason for signing up for next January’s series of Dancing On Ice – alongside the likes of former Strictly pro James Jordan, Westlife’s Brian McFadden and Love Island’s Wes Nelson – and it’s probably not quite what you’d have imagined.
The reality TV star, 37, confessed she’s on a mission to slim down, in the hope she’ll marry her on-off boyfriend, James Argent, 30, looking like a shadow of her former self.
Gemma, who is currently house-hunting with Arg, revealed, ‘I want to get married in the next few years, and I don’t want to be fat for my wedding. If I commit myself to training and eating well, I think I could really get in shape by doing the show.’
And in typical Gemma style, she wasn’t hesitant to add, ‘I’m not deluded. I know no one is going to be able to lift me up on the ice, but I’m going to throw myself into it and give it my best shot. I’m representing the curvy girls!’ It’s no secret that the voluptuous blonde has tried various weight-loss techniques in the past, including liquid diets and hypnotherapy, but nothing has kept the pounds permanently at bay.
Let’s just hope her days on the ice will last longer than the 72 hours she spent in the I’m A Celeb… jungle, where she claimed she couldn’t cope with the lack of food.
‘Even a murderer gets fed three times a day!’ she cried at the time.
Hopefully, things will work in her favour this time – she’s certainly starting to shed those stubborn pounds. You can’t knock the Essex girl for trying!
One thing you can bet on is that when ‘The GC’ gets her skates on, the result will be entertainment gold. Break a leg, Gemma… or actually – don’t!
