Holly out in the cold: Is the DOI star skating on thin ice

- WORDS: DANIELLE SOUTHWOOD

Despite bagging yet another NTA for her downto-earth presenting skills just weeks ago,

This Morning’s Holly Willoughby seems to have just dented her ‘golden girl’ image.

Holly, who turned 38 on Sunday, and her TV co-host, Phillip Schofield, 56, who were praised for their ‘genuine friendship’ just days before, were slammed by viewers for their ‘diva behaviour’ during a recent fashion segment.

The dynamic duo spent all of 10 minutes outside in the cold, conducting interviews alongside fellow presenter Rochelle Humes, 29.

You would have thought Dancing On Ice co-presenter Holly, who stands in the middle of a skating rink every Sunday, might have been more resilient in the cold.

With the temperatures decidedly nippy, the chilly presenters shouted, ‘ Whose stupid idea was this?’ before telling showbiz reporter Alison Hammond to ‘ hurry up’ so they could scurry back inside to the warmth.

Clearly unimpressed, mum-of-three Holly asked the Loose Women panel back in the studio, ‘I bet you’re nice and warm, aren’t you?’

But some Twitter users didn’t see the funny side and were swift to blast the antics of the co-hosts.

One wrote, ‘Have to spend 10 minutes outside in the cold on your wage and hours? Some people do it every day on peanuts!’

Another added, ‘Give them the OBE, surviving a cold day outside for 15 minutes. Bless them.’ One viewer commented, ‘They are very smug now. Not nice at all.’

It wasn’t all negative, though. Supportive tweets included, ‘I wanted to wrap a blanket round Holly, bless her…’ and, ‘ You really know how to brighten up my day.’

Possibly after seeing the reaction, the TV hosts released a video. Holly said, ‘ We had to go outside for fashion today and we weren’t that keen… because it was so cold.’

Phil added, ‘ You get telly coats, but the wind goes right through them.’

Holly said, ‘I think we should apologise, and thank Rochelle for holding that [section] together in such a professional manner.’ Probably a good move! Holly and Phil wake up to a job most of us could only dream of doing day in and day out. So, toning down the moaning might be wise. If not, they could find themselves treading on thin ice...
