Andrea McLean shocked viewers when she saw red during Loose Women
She’s one of the least confrontational of ITV’s straighttalking Loose Women. So anchor Andrea McLean had viewers doing a double-take recently, when she spectacularly lost her cool with her fellow panellists.
An explosive row broke out between Kaye Adams and Jane Moore as the panel discussed the issue of childhood obesity – and mum-of-two Andrea clearly snapped, after what felt like an endless spat between the two.
Jane kicked things off by saying, ‘If you have a severely obese four-year-old, it is because you as a parent have fed them rubbish.’
Looking instantly irritated, Kaye begged to differ. ‘I just think that is so unfair, Jane. It really is. It’s so unfair.’ An angry Jane snapped back that Kaye was suggesting that these parents are ‘so stupid that they don’t know a burger is not good for your health’.
Clearly lost for words, Kaye repeatedly shouted, ‘Stop, stop, stop!’ at her friend of over 20 years. At one point, things got so out of hand, Jane even put her fingers in her ears as Kaye tried to speak.
Furious at their childish behaviour, Andrea begged them to stop screaming at each other, saying, ‘Both of you, let me come in here!’ But, as the row continued, Andrea shouted, ‘For the love of God, would you let all of us get to the end of a sentence? We are mature people who know how to get to the end of a sentence – please let me do so!’
Twitter users were quick to comment on Andrea’s fiery reaction. One gobsmacked viewer wrote, ‘I honestly didn’t think mild mannered @ andrea_mclean had it in her! She stopped me dead in my tracks there… #LooseWomen.’
Another commented, ‘Loving @andrea_mclean kicking off at Jane and Kaye.’
Others tweeted, ‘For god’s sake @andrea_mclean: It’s ok for two women to passionately debate a topic without being patronised’ and ‘Andrea losing control over the debate on #LooseWomen – never happens under Ruth!’
Whichever side you’re on, there’s no arguing we saw a whole new side to Andrea McLean – mess with this woman at your peril!
