‘The most unfathomable trend among women, especially young women, is lip fillers. The latest one who seems to think it’s a good look is Ferne McCann. The former TOWIE cast member was pictured recently pouting, maybe not deliberately, at the cameras looking like she’d either been punched in the mouth several times or had stuck on joke Mick Jagger lips.

Ferne denies she’s had lip fillers, but plenty of stars do advocate this form of cosmetic surgery. Just look at Katie Price and Chloe Sims.

I’d like to know where the inspiration for this look comes from. The only thing I’ve ever seen with lips like that – apart from Mick Jagger, of course – is a big old fish. And, although I’m sure most procedures are without problems, they can go really wrong. Just look at the unfortunate experiences of Leslie Ash and the late, great Pete Burns. Now, it looks like women are deliberately recreating that look. It’s madness. Obviously, I’m not against all cosmetic alterations or enhancements – some can seriously improve one’s looks. I’m an example of that, as I’ve had a lower facelift. I had it because I really needed it, and also, I was 58 – not 28. What’s more, I don’t look different. I look like me. But sadly, these girls don’t want to look like themselves. They all want to look the same, with big tattooed eyebrows, tons of Botox, fat lips and big fake hair. It’s worrying, because they think they’re ageing rapidly in their twenties and that maybe, by indulging in all these “improvements”, they never will. But it doesn’t work like that.’
