THURSDAY, ITV, 8.30PM NEW SERIES Welcome back to Great Ormond Street in London, where Paul O’Grady returns for a new series of the show in which he meets children who are receiving lifechanging treatment at the famous hospital. The first patient is five-year-old chatterbox Daniel, who has been confined to a wheelchair for two weeks after being struck down by juvenile idiopathic arthritis. Paul also speaks to 14-year-old Reagan, who has scoliosis, a progressive condition that has left her with an ever-increasing curvature in her spine, and 17-year-old Gavriel, who has Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Make sure you have some tissues on hand, you’re going to need them!

NEW SERIES The charming Fiona Bruce returns to chair this topical debate show that invites an audience to quiz a panel of question-dodging politicians and other guests on all manner of current affairs. After each lively show, Fiona has admitted to relaxing with a glass of ‘tepid white wine’. A girl after our own hearts, then!

Mark Strong leads a stellar cast – including Daniel Mays and Carice Van Houten – in this new drama set in subterranean London. When surgeon Daniel’s wife is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, he refuses to accept the prognosis and instead launches a clinic in the tunnels underneath Temple station.
3 Gogglebox FRIDAY, CHANNEL 4, 9PM
NEW SERIES You know the drill by now. The fly-on-the-wall series that turns the cameras on TV’s armchair critics is back. Pull up a chair and settle in as the show’s regular gang of families, friends and pets returns. Everyone has their favourite members of the Gogglebox family – and, of course, none of them are backward in coming forward!

Toni Collette stars in this US crime drama, based on a shocking true story. In 2008, a young woman reported that she’d been raped, but was not believed by police. Years later, two female detectives realise she has been the victim of a serial rapist – who’s still at large.
