1 Midsomer Murders

ITV, TUESDAY, 8PM NEW SERIES

It’s murder on the dancefloor as the detective drama returns for its 21st series, with the first episode a rather brilliant mash-up with Strictly Come Dancing! The episode, entitled The Point of Balance, is set against the background of a ballroom dancing competition. All the guest stars are former Strictly stars, too – including Danny Mac, Faye Tozer, Natalie Gumede and Tom Chambers. The episode focuses on the suspicious death of a professional dancer, who was not competing in Midsomer’s Paramount Dance Extravaganza, but should have been, and the subsequent murder of the dancer’s brother, who had been bashed around the head by a remote-controlled robotic arm. It’s up to DCI Barnaby (Neil Dudgeon) and DS Jamie Winter (Nick Hendrix) to unmask the culprit.
