Coleen’s on a mission

Coleen Nolan has revealed what worries her about her weight – and what doesn’t...

-

Twice-divorced and now in her fifties, Coleen Nolan has revealed that, while she’s loving single life for the moment, she’d like to lose some weight.

But it’s not to impress a prospective partner – quite the opposite, in fact. The Loose Women favourite confessed, ‘I don’t care if men fancy me or not!’

‘I’d definitely like to lose at least 2st, but that isn’t to aesthetically please other people.’ she explained. ‘It’s because I’m 55 and all of a sudden my joints are aching more. So it’s more of a health reason...I will get around to it, but I feel happier now and more comfortable in my own skin than I did 10 years ago. I think that comes with age and wisdom and maybe also because I’m not married, so I don’t have to worry whether anyone fancies me!’

The mum-of-three, who sold her luxury pad in Cheshire to fulfil her childhood dream of living on a farm, confessed she’s ‘ less bothered about everything – not that I was ever that bothered! But certainly,

I worry less about pleasing other people if it doesn’t please me.’

It’s great to see Coleen – who’s currently filming a TV series with sisters Linda, Anne and Maureen, which sees her cruising around the Med – so confident again. Once a trim size 10, after dropping 5st in 2009, she released a series of fitness DVDs coinciding with her dramatic weight loss.

But Coleen later admitted maintaining her size was a tough existence, involving hitting the gym six days a week and counting every single calorie she consumed.

‘Being thin didn’t make me happy. I lost a bit of me somewhere – I think because part of my personality is always making jokes and putting myself down.’

Coleen revealed recently that she hasn’t slept with a man in three years, but she doesn’t seem to be in too much of a rush to meet someone – and has been on no dates.

‘I’d love to meet a nice farmer, but I’m actually loving every minute of the single life. I’ve been in relationships since I was 15.’

We couldn’t agree more, Coleen. Enjoy the single life – and slim down for yourself, nobody else…

‘Being thin didn’t make me happy. I lost a bit of myself somewhere’

‘We live one life – we must find a wayto live it to the best of our ability.’

‘If there’s one thing I’ve learned’
