Modern and attractive, Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa has a lot of offer. The setting is stunning; acres and acres of beautiful green fairways. So, if you or your partner are keen golfers it’s the perfect place to play and relax. I stayed overnight with my mum and, while we enjoyed watching the golfers, we were destined for some serious pampering at the spa. From the moment we were greeted at reception, the friendliness of staff stood out.
We were delighted with our large ground-floor room – plenty of wardrobe hanging space, a TV and sitting area and the most wonderful spacious outside patio. If you are in need of a recharge the comfy outdoor sofas are perfect. We were so lucky with the weather we sat outside soaking up the sun, the tranquillity only occasionally broken by a passing golf buggy or some rather over-familiar ducks!
We made the most of the spa’s indoor heated pool, steam rooms and Himalayan salt sauna – and then enjoyed an ESPA double facial. It’s the first time I’ve had a double treatment, where my mum and I were in the same treatment room. It’s a great way to share an experience. Relaxed and with our faces glowing, it was time to enjoy the Fairway Bar and Grill, which offers succulent grills and modern seasonal dishes.
This place isn’t just for golfers, though. We met a group of women who were enjoying a spa package with afternoon tea and dinner.
Perfectly located for lots of tourist attractions in the North West, from the Red Squirrel Reserve and the iconic football grounds of Liverpool and Everton, plus the cutting-edge Liverpool ONE shopping experience.
