Danny Dyer’s wife Jo has sparked speculation that their marriage is in crisis, after revealing she’s ‘never been in love’…
She’s been with EastEnders actor Danny Dyer, 42, for more than two decades. So when Joanne Mas told fans she’s ‘never been in love’ and ‘can’t remember the last time’ she laughed, fans were understandably gobsmacked.
Last week, in a revealing Q&A with Instagram followers, the 43-year-old mum-of-three answered fans’ questions, while in isolation at her Essex home.
“Have I ever been in love?” ‘Probably not.’ “Do I believe in myself?” ‘Of course I believe in myself. Good job I do because no one else does.’
“When was the last time I laughed?” ‘I don’t really laugh. I can’t really remember the last time I laughed. That’s going to make me think now…’
“Have you ever made anyone cry?” ‘I’ve probably made most people cry in my life. Some more than others.’
One fan commented that Danny’s wife sounded ‘miserable’. The impression was things aren’t going well...
Was it a joke? If so, maybe mistimed as speculation grows about the state of her marriage – and not for the first time.
Though the pair – who share children, Dani, 24, Sunnie, 12, and Arty, six – planned to review their wedding vows this year after tying the knot in 2016, the reasoning wasn’t so romantic.
In a previous interview, Joanne admitted she wanted to hear Danny renew their vows because he had ‘ humiliated’ her and she had to ‘deal with s**t throughout their marriage’.
The couple briefly split in 2009, after an illicit affair on Danny’s part came to light. At the time, the cheeky chappy confessed, ‘I got caught out doing something I shouldn’t have done. I hate myself for what I did and for being tempted by forbidden fruit.’
A few years later, it was reported that he had been pictured naked by a ‘starstruck’ 21-year-old who claimed she had spent the night with him behind Jo’s back. Danny strongly denied the claims, but it’s a story that would put a strain on the strongest of relationships.
Then, just weeks before his wedding, rumours began to swirl to say that Danny had supposedly ‘sexted’ a woman, sending her a photo of himself in his pants...
So was Jo’s video tongue-incheek? Who knows. Whether it was or not, it’s an odd thing to do. Perhaps self-isolation is getting to her, too...
