Kirstie’s shocking meltdown: Furious, foul-mouthed rants from the Queen of Home TV
Called rich, privileged and asked to ‘get a grip’ as her husband tested positive for Coronavirus, Kirstie Allsopp melted down…
Location,Location, Location star Kirstie Allsopp has been ruffling feathers. The craft queen is no stranger to controversy, but this time it was sparked by her decision to leave London for Devon.
As her partner Ben Anderson tested positive for Coronavirus, Kirstie – who feared she also ‘ had symptoms’ – drove to her country residence to selfisolate with Ben and their children (Bay, 13, Oscar, 11, plus step-children Lydia, 19, and Hal, 17).
But her decision caused a huge storm on social media.
‘Shameful taking unessential travel with people who have tested positive for the virus…’ said one. ‘Sick of overpaid, over-privileged celebs and their holiday homes,’ ranted another. ‘Only a selfish moron would take a family from the capital to the countryside knowing one member of the party was infected.’
Kirstie was horrified. ‘The last 24 hours has been utterly horrible, full of vile, unpleasant and frankly frightening comments,’ she wrote on Twitter, explaining later that her freezer was stocked and the dogs could be walked without leaving the garden.
Even Kirstie’s own followers weren’t too enamoured with her tweet though, with one reacting: ‘Sorry I realise it may hurt. But most people’s struggles are going to be millions harder than yours my dear. So please don’t expect sympathy. People are living with no wages stuck in tiny flats with disabled children. Let’s think about them first.’
Good Morning Britain’s Piers Morgan seemed to agree with the critic, retweeting her and commenting: ‘Kirstie, you’re rich, privileged and isolating in a lavish country home with your family.
‘Maybe stop making this crisis about your struggle with trolls and direct your energy into rallying support for NHS workers risking their lives for us all in very dangerous circumstances?’
Kirstie hit out: ‘ You total b*****d’.
Piers urged her to ‘get over’ herself and ‘get a grip’ because ‘people are dying’.
Emotions are running high in these strange times and some, it seems, can clearly control those emotions better than others…
