WhoWantsToBeAMillionaire?
Get your fastest finger first ready, as the hit quiz show returns to ITV, with some contestants hoping to win the big bucks. Host Jeremy Clarkson found fame on TopGear. The twice-divorced dad-of-three lives in the Cotswolds.
What have viewers got to look forward to, this series?
There are some really uplifting moments. When you watch someone who’s doing really well, and deserves the money, you’re just willing them on.
What makes a good contestant?
A photographic memory! You have to be able to look at the dates of every King and Queen, and remember them. Rather than allow it to dribble out of the chin!
Have you become more intelligent?
Knowing things doesn’t make you intelligent. A dolphin knows nothing, and is quite intelligent. Intelligence is the ability to look at point A and point B and then make an opinion out of those.
What’s the hardest part of your role?
The usual boring television stuff, remembering not to dribble! I think television presenters have a particularly easy ride, I don’t think we have any difficult bits!
What’s your advice for anyone hoping to appear on the show?
If you think you might be a bit stupid, don’t bother. Don’t waste my time, don’t waste the viewers’ time.
How are you spending your lockdown?
I’m farming. Getting up at 6am and driving tractors, until the sun goes down. My potatoes are lovely, and my broad beans will be ready soon!
