As a busy working mum, panellist Saira Khan says the epitome of ‘me’ time, where she can totally unwind (and come home ‘lighter, happier and glowing’!) is on her annual trip to a boutique health retreat in rustic, rural Portugal…

TRAVEL SNAPSHOT

Each year, I make it my mission to take some ‘me time’, to relax, recharge and rejuvenate. For me, Juicy Oasis in Portugal is my little piece of heaven. This stunning juice, yoga and fitness retreat in rural Portugal, is surrounded by deep forests and farreaching mountains. Overlooking the magnificent, wide-flowing river Zêzere, Juicy Oasis is not a ‘spa hotel’, but rather, a retreat where you are taken on a ‘mind and body seven-day journey’, designed to recharge, reboot and re-inspire. After one week, I felt like a different woman… As it says on the walls, ‘Sometimes you have to retreat, to move forward’.

INSIDER’S GUIDE

This is a luxurious resort, where the prime focus is on keeping your mind, body and soul happy and healthy! I love its simple, relaxed vibe. There really is nothing to think about, apart from how you are going to spend the day. I loved the yoga and the outdoor hot tub. I spent a lot of time on the sunlounger with my books – and enjoying the gorgeous views. The daily activities cater for everyone, so you are likely to find something that both relaxes and rejuvenates you.
