GETTING THERE:

-

FOOD AND DRINK

The clue is in the name, really – when you come to Juicy Oasis, it is all about the juices. I’m a long-time juicing convert – and I think it’s actually easy to get used to, once you know what to expect, and let yourself go with the flow. So yes, the thought of living on four juices per day might be off-putting for those who haven’t done this kind of thing before. But I can put my hand on my heart and say that I never once felt hungry or experienced cravings. The juices themselves are absolutely delicious, totally filling and highly nutritious. But, please remember, it is just juice, and nothing else!

DON’T MISS

The how-to juice demonstrations are a must-see – so you can continue ‘juicing’ like a pro when you get home (the best bit being, you can sample all the drinks). Look out for the frozen banana ice cream – it’s delicious, and so easy to make! The rainforest spa experience is equally unmissable – the ultimate in decadent massage, which leaves skin soft and smooth.

I flew to Lisbon from London Heathrow last summer, a two hour 45 min flight, with British Airways (britishairways.com) – followed by a one hour 45 minute transfer by car to the retreat. Group transfers are complimentary, running between 12 noon and 8.45pm on your arrival Saturday, and returning between 3.30am (meeting a 7am flight at the earliest) and 4.30pm. Flights with BA are currently available in July, starting from £70 each way. Remember that Coronavirus advice on travel is changing rapidly. Before booking, check with your chosen airline, hotel or ticket agent on flexible rebooking options.

There is a beautiful freshwater lake with a pier on the resort – which is refreshing and perfect to cool down in after one of the long, sweaty treks you can do as part of your daily activities! It is the most serene, peaceful spot, and the views surrounding you are just breathtaking. It’s a must if you visit here.
