As the eldest of the Beckhams’ brood gets engaged, could we be looking at the wedding of the decade?!
Last week, David and Victoria Beckham’s eldest son Brooklyn, 21, announced his shock engagement to Transformers star Nicola Peltz, 25, on Instagram.
He captioned a dreamy snap of the pair with the words, ‘Two weeks ago, I asked my soulmate to marry me and she said yes, xx. I am the luckiest man in the world. I promise to be the best husband and the best daddy one day <3 I love you baby xx’
Famous friends and family couldn’t contain their excitement for the photographer and his actress fiancée who, in another snap, showed off her £250,000 diamond engagement ring.
Former Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria – a close friend of mum Victoria – commented, ‘Congrats @brooklynbeckham. So happy for you!!’
Proud mum Victoria wrote ‘THE most exciting news!! We could not be happier that Brooklyn and Nicole are getting married. Wishing you so much love and a lifetime of happiness. We all love you both so much.’
In the picture, Nicola – who previously dated Canadian popstar Justin Bieber – wore a dress designed by her future mother-in-law. A potential nod to who will make her wedding dress, perhaps?
If Posh and Becks’ wedding in 1999 is anything to go by, it will be a lavish affair! Brooklyn’s mum and dad sat on golden thrones in a stunning Irish castle, changing into purple suits to dance the night away.
Certainly, something their big day (or days – they are said to want nuptials in England and Florida) will have in common with Brooklyn’s famous parents is some of the celebs on their guestlist…
Victoria’s former Spice Girls bandmates Mel B, Mel C, Geri Horner and Emma Bunton are highly likely to be on it – as well as Brooklyn’s superstar godparents, Elton John and his husband David Furnish, plus Hollywood actress Liz Hurley.
A Royal or two could be on the list, too – given David and Victoria attended both William and Kate’s nuptials, and Harry and Meghan’s big day. Congrats to the happy couple – with Brooklyn reportedly wanting to splash £4m, it’s shaping up to be one ‘Big Fat Beckham Wedding’!
