Having found the message ‘To Rick’ on the back of her new watch, Sarah realises Adam was right about Gary all along. Her ex clearly knows more about his disappearance than he is saying. But the ensuing confrontation ends up in an argument, with Gary himself ending up in hospital.

Meanwhile, lawyer Adam senses Sarah is lying about what exactly happened but keeps his counsel and tells the police Sarah is too shaken to give a statement. As soon as he is able, Gary discharges himself from hospital, throws some clothes in a hold-all and leaves three letters on the side marked for Maria, Izzy and Nicola.
