Amanda’s fear of 50! Is the BGT star having a midlife crisis?
Is it just us, or is Amanda Holden ramping up her youthful displays? Could it be related to a looming milestone birthday…
Showing off her agedefiant body each week on Britain’s GotTalent has always been a trademark of glamorous judge Amanda Holden, 49.
But recently, fans of the star – whose debut album
Songs From My Heart is out this Friday, have noticed how ‘young’ she’s dressing – even compared to her usual fashionable style.
BGT’s current head judge turns 50 early next year. Could the milestone have kickstarted a form of mid-life crisis?
Sharing a snap of her work outfit for Heart Radio recently, the mum-of-two flashed a cheeky smile as she showed off her quirky ensemble… In it, Amanda wore a white print T-shirt and a green mini-skirt. Opting for natural make-up, her hair falling around her shoulders, she looked almost as if she were ready for school!
‘ You’re starting to look about 20 years old,’ one fan said. Another joked, ‘teenager’.
Others, however, weren’t so convinced. ‘There’s nothing natural about her at all,’ said one. ‘Anyone who can pay for it can look like that, and if you don’t like your photos, you can filter them to oblivion!’
Amanda also posted a suggestive video on social media recently, as she crossed and uncrossed her legs to the camera, setting the internet set alight as everyone spoke of her ‘Sharon Stone moment’.
Earlier this year, returning to BGT auditions, Amanda shared a snap of herself on the panel to Twitter that left her two million followers baffled by her youthful looks. So the star tweeted this month to explain her age-defying face.
‘I’ve had collagen wave facials to smooth out my skin ever since @nilamholmes made it available at @dermaspa_mk .It has always given me an incredible lift.
‘The other week before filming started on the @bgt live shows, Nilam suggested
I try a new natural treatment called Morpheus8. The results have been absolutely amazing. I’ve noticed a real plumpness to my skin and it’s much tighter!’
Some online commentators remained unconvinced that was all it took, tweeting: Your lips have grown…’ with another adding: ‘After too much plastic surgery all the expressions are the same...’
Who knows if Amanda’s latest treatments and outfits are a mid-life crisis? But it is probably true to say that every Big O birthday is an age where we all re-evaluate and re-examine how far we’ve come and where we are going in our lives. And whatever she is thinking, Amanda looks way younger than her years.
So if she is trying to hold back the years, she won’t be the first (as our editor says: ‘She looks pretty amazing from where I’m standing…’)
