1 The Sound of Music

What better way to kick off the Easter weekend than rememberin­g ‘the hills are alive…’ and, in tribute to the late Christophe­r Plummer (aka Captain von Trapp), who died in February, the BBC kicks off Friday evening viewing with this classic. A heartwarmi­ng musical, this 1965 film is based on the real life of one of the world’s best-known concert groups before World War II. Julie Andrews plays Maria, the tomboyish nun at an Austrian abbey who becomes governess to a widowed naval captain’s seven children – bringing a love of life and music into the home. Prepare to sing along – and cry!

2 Food Unwrapped Gets Chocolatey

CHANNEL 4, FRIDAY, 7.30PM NEW SERIES

It’s the most chocolatey time of the year and, to celebrate, Food Unwrapped is taking a look back at some of its favourite chocolateb­ased investigat­ions. Kate Quilton heads to a cocoa co-operative in Ghana, while Matt Tebbutt visits a UK factory to find out what makes white chocolate white; and get the inside story on After Eights – just how does the minty fondant stay gooey as the choc stays crispy?!

3 Ben Fogle: New Lives in the Wild

Escape virtually for an hour with adventurer Ben Fogle, as he ventures deep into the Scottish Highlands to visit a young family and their 10,000-acre wilderness estate. Ben drives cattle on horseback, digs out a dam to ensure the family’s hydroelect­ricity supply and gets to grips with the annual deer cull.

4Dragons’ Den

BBC ONE, THURSDAY, 8PM NEW SERIES

The series allowing budding entreprene­urs three minutes to pitch their business ideas is back, with Dragons such as Peter Jones, Deborah Meaden and Sara Davies eager to strike more deals. In this first episode, a pair of tea entreprene­urs find themselves in hot water and a husband-and-wife team have the needs of NHS workers at the heart of a skin care business.

5Six Minutes to Midnight

SKY CINEMA AND NOW TV Starring Eddie Izzard, Judi Dench and Jim Broadbent, this gripping war film is set 17 days before World War II, as an English teacher disappears from a coastal boarding school, hosting 20 German teenage girls. Can his replacemen­t figure out what happened?
