Ant McPartlin: The Ex Factor

Presenter Ant McPartlin tied the knot with his new wife, Anne-Marie Corbett, 43, in a fairy-tale wedding last week.
After a tumultuous few years for the 45-yearold TV star (rehab, a car crash, and a very public divorce), it was an emotional day for the Geordie who admitted to ‘fighting back the tears’ when he saw his beautiful bride walk down the aisle at St Michael’s Church in Heckfield, Hampshire.
And we wish them well, for the break-up of his first marriage and battles with alcohol have not been easy.
But ever the cheeky chappy (in public, at least), Ant is said to have referenced his struggles in his groom’s speech, opening it with, ‘Hi, I’m Ant and I’m an alcoholic.’
The couple, who exited the church through an arch made of hydrangeas and roses, glowed with happiness before climbing into a black Rolls Royce.
Someone who wasn’t feeling the love, however, was Ant’s ex wife – Lisa Armstrong.
In fact, the Strictly Come Dancing make-up artist, who spent the weekend away on a luxury break with boyfriend James Green, ‘ liked’ a tweet from a well-wisher, who joked about the heavy rain on the morning of the wedding saying, ‘Terrible weather in Hampshire today.’
Lisa, was married to Ant for 11 years, from 2006 until 2018, before the relationship broke down. Their separation has not been an amicable one, although they continue to share care of their beloved pet dog, Hurley.
Ant later embarked on a romance with the couple’s former PA, Anne-Marie.
When the news broke, Lisa tweeted a broken heart emoji and added the message: ‘My friend and OUR PA who I let into our home.’
In January Lisa ‘ liked’ a tweet calling Ant ‘spineless’ after she was awarded a huge pay-out after their divorce was finalised. But despite the bad weather in the morning, by the time Ant and Anne-Marie exchanged vows in front of celebrity guests, the sun had come out.
Celebrity pals included David Walliams, Cat Deeley and her husband Patrick Kielty, Phillip Schofield and his wife, Stephanie (they came together, despite separating after Phil came out as gay), and Frank and Christine Lampard.
And, of course, best mate Declan Donnelly was there by Ant’s side – both in matching suits – to perform best man duties and he also said to have delivered an ‘emotional’ speech at the wedding. After a rocky couple of years, it is certainly good to see Ant smiling again – here’s wishing better times ahead for both of them.
