Struck by sadness after reading Richard Hill’s letter Dealer or no dealer (Bike Nov 2016), and not necessarily due to his deal falling through. Call me snobby, but when motorcycling is ultimately symbolic of freedom and excitement (recent hipster clichés aside), I don’t know which is more tragic – that he is only allowed a motorcycle as long as his wife chooses the colour, or his ‘excitement’ about owning a modern 900 that’s struggling to make 50bhp.
