Elitist scum slur

-

Great October issue: Hugo takes Africa Twin to the Pyrenees, takes ferry to St Malo down to Toulouse, three-days non-autoroute. Any chance of Hugo’s route details? Reason is I have a house at Castelnaudary and normally travel down bike in van, all autoroute in one day, but would love to bike down in the style that Hugo did – just helps if someone experienced has come up with a route. We normally go Portsmouth/ Caen and travel down the middle to Toulouse because the hilly bits, from Brive down, are much more interesting than the very bland flat autoroute scenery down the west side above and below Bordeaux. Generally great mag, just a tiny bit elitist. I know you probably think that there are magazines that deal with the ‘lower orders’, but some of us have to ride ‘value’ motorcycles and wear value clothing and equipment, Gladius and old Fazer 600. So I want some real world subject matter with the Bike standards of journalism. Is that too much to ask? Mark Holmes-siedle, email.

Frankly, yes. What’s all this ‘lower orders’ schtick as you motor to your château in France? – MG
