Girl power sells

Just reading Alan Seeley’s bit on the Classic TT (p.18, Bike, November 2016) and while Maria Costello deserves huge congratulations on getting on the podium in the Senior Classic race, she isn’t the first – that honour belongs to Carolyn Sells who won (yes, WON) the lightweight race at the 2009 Manx Grand Prix with a brilliant ride that didn’t include a refuelling stop. Just needed to point that out. Well done Maria, but don’t overlook Carolyn’s prior achievement. Simon Scott, Newbury
