If you’re test riding an S1000RR after coming from a Japanese sportsbike then you might find the gearbox feels quite different – clunky and mechanical. However this is just a trait of the bike and simply requires good, positive pressure on the lever with every gearchange to ensure a smooth shift. All Sport models come complete with BMW’S quickshifter for clutchless upshifts, and on the 2015 onwards models downshifts too.
