As newly certified BMW tour guides, we have a premium boutique approach to our business. Alkemist Adventures specialise in providing personalised tours, which are flexible and so can satisfy the different needs and abilities of individual clients. To guarantee this the tours we organise are limited to a maximum of six riders, plus two very dedicated guides, support vehicle, and a master chef. We take care of all the logistics so you don’t have to worry.
What are the roads like? We ride on a variety of surfaces from gravel to asphalt – 40% of the surfaces on our tours are gravel.
We avoid major tourist traps and instead focus on beautiful nature and sightseeing from the highest mountains to the spectacular coast. For example, our famous Grand Adventure tour starts at 2000 meters in the Slovenian Alps, passing by mountain rivers and lakes, where you can still drink the fresh water. From here we head for the Bosnian mountains where we usually visit Lukomir – the village at the end of the world – 1495 meters above sea level. It’s all about the fabulous hospitality and local cuisine. From the top of the mountain the route takes us through Croatian and Montenegrin national parks including the Tara Canyon (the deepest canyon in Europe) and the

fabulous Croatian islands. Known as pearls of Mediterranean the beaches are secluded, the Adriatic sea turquoise and the seafood caught that morning. We catch all these stunning moments by our drone and at the end of the tour we offer a personal video and photos as a memory of your adventure.
What about health and safety?
Safety is our motto and is the reason why, two days prior the tour, we run a preliminary skills development program. Known as the ‘Turn 2 Gravel Event’ you will be trained by a Dakar competitor and BMW certified off-road instructor. And it all takes place in one of the most beautiful natural enduro parks in Slovenia.
How’s the accommodation and food?
We mostly stay in boutique accommodation where our guests can meet the locals and get to know the culture, food and wine.
There is wild culinary diversity and our mission is to cover as much of it as we possibly can. We want our guests to experience traditional dishes served in courtyards, vineyards and the most exclusive traditional restaurants. Each night we stay in a different place, but be sure all the accommodation we use is highly rated. Expect everything from small local lodges in the heart of the wilderness, to boutique hotels located in the idyllic surroundings of mountain forests and beach resorts.
