BIKE (UK)

Deflated/elated

- Chrisgwyn,email

After years commuting on a motorbike, through all weathers, I now have the luxury of both a car and a bike. So, on 17 October I decided to take the bike to work for my last ride this year – my commute is South Wales to Hereford. However, after ten years of riding I had my first puncture with no repair kit on board. Not good.

Cold through to bone, a few kind people stopped but this letter is to recognise one particular mature biker on his yellow Suzuki. He stopped a couple of times as he passed to check how I was doing and have a chat as he didn’t carry a repair kit either. But on the third time he stopped he pulled out, from under his seat, a coffee all taped up and a chocolate bar. I was amazed for two reasons: one for his kindness and two that it fitted under the saddle.

I know bikers are a great friendly bunch of people but this one biker went well out of his way for me. I would love to be able to meet up with him again and, if I get Star Letter, ask Bike to donate the Caberg helmet and subscription to him as a thank you.

If you are that mystery Suzuki rider email us at the usual address and tell us what model Suzuki you ride and what brand of chocolate bar you came to the rescue with and we will put you in-touch with Chris. HW
