The 2024 HARLEY-DAVIDSON® STREET GLIDE® and ROAD GLIDE®
The definition of freedom? That’ll be this year’s Harley-davidson Grand American Touring line-up. With accessible V-twin performance, cosseting comfort, easy-life technology and iconic looks… riding a Harley bagger is, surely, the way to escape the humdrum. For 2024, the Milwaukee manufacturer has re-imagined the Street Glide® and Road Glide® models. Both are powered by the latest 117 cubic-inch (1923cc) version of the Milwaukee-eight® engine, boasting 107hp and a hefty 129 lb.ft of torque. A-roads are despatched just as easily as motorways (but with a bigger smile). The motor has new liquid-cooled cylinder heads and a redesigned radiator to optimise rider comfort with the extra capacity and performance. For the first time in their history, the Street Glide and Road Glide feature four different riding modes – Rain, Road, Sport, and one you can customise yourself. These alter the response and engine braking, and are linked to an array of electronic rider aids that include posh Imu-informed cornering traction control and cornering ABS.
The bikes also feature an enormous 12.3-inch TFT touchscreen display with H-D’S exclusive Skyline™ OS
– all the analogue instrumentation from the previous Street Glide and Road Glide models has been consigned to history, along with most of the switchgear – as well as tyre pressure monitoring (TPMS), a Drag Torque Slip Control System (C-DSCS), LED lighting, and more.
The silhouettes of the Street Glide and Road Glide are reassuringly familiar, with that classy mile-swallowing look and unmistakable Harley-davidson style. Nose more closely and you’ll find the fairings have been subtly tweaked. Aerodynamics and seating (and so rider comfort) are improved, and with the reshaped petrol tank and an even tidier rear end featuring enclosed lighting, the two new models are fresher and sharper. With their two distinct profiles, the new models bring that classic Milwaukee style bang up to date. With these new visuals, even greater comfort, the increase in performance, and deployment of advanced technology throughout – not to mention a whole raft of detail changes – the iconic American ‘baggers’ have a whole new level of refinement and desirability.

Pared-down, chromed-up street sled packing the good ol’ Motor Company’s Milwaukee-eight (four valves per pot) lump displacing 117 cubic inches – that’s 1917cc. Proper thing. Drag strip-inspired styling, but no wheelie bars or parachute. Not even as options. Pity.
