GRID REFERENCE: SO 555 157 HOW TO GET THERE: From the A40 at Whitchurch take the B4164 to a roundabout then the second exit and follow the minor road for about half a mile to the turning left (SE) towards Great Downward. Follow this narrow road for about two miles WHERE TO PARK: The best place to park is in the small car parking area at the nearby Miners Rest along Horse Pool Lane at grid ref: SO 552 159 TERRAIN: Generally easy going in the reserve but steep tracks down to the river ACCESSIBILITY: No disabled access. Dogs under strict control – not allowed to roam free in the reserve. Note: The gate to the grassland is locked when stock are grazing FACILITIES: None on site but all in Whitchurch (two miles) or Monmouth (four miles) PUBLIC TRANSPORT: Nearest railway station is Hereford, National Rail Enquiries, tel: 08457 700 240.
