WAYMARKERS

From the parking area follow the track south-east, checking for Marsh Tit, Pied Flycatcher and also Green Woodpecker.

12Head into the more wooded area, looking for Great Spotted Woodpecker, Blue and Coal Tits and perhaps a Treecreeper or Nuthatch.

In the grassland, watch for that impressive Green Woodpecker. The surrounding trees and bushes should produce views of Chaffinch, Blackbird and thrushes, but also summer warblers. Up above you should see Swifts, hirundines and a possible Red Kite.

34Finally, the river should hold Goosander, Little Grebe, Cormorant, Grey Heron and Kingfisher. There is always a chance of a rare migrant, too.
