CORNISH CHOUGH SUCCESS

-

Choughs in Cornwall have had their best breeding season since the species made a surprise return to the Duchy 15 years ago. Eight out of the 12 pairs that attempted to breed this year have successfully raised 23 young between them, bringing the total number of Cornish Choughs to 54. As well as this, it seems that some of the birds rearing young were one year olds, a rare event, as Choughs usually do not breed until they are two years old.
