WHERE TO WATCH?

This large woodland grouse is found in the rare and vulnerable habitat of Scottish native pinewood. They can occasionally be seen from hides at RSPB Abernethy Forest nature reserve in the Strathspey area of the Cairngorms National Park, in Scotland. For the best chance of seeing Capercaillies, book with a reputable Scottish wildlife tour company, which may have special arrangements with private estates and experience of showing capercaillies to visitors.
