1 From Pulpit Hill, scan for overhead visible migration of Sky Lark, Meadow Pipit, Pied and Grey Wagtails, Blackbird, Song Thrush, Redwing, Fieldfare, Starling, Chaffinch, Greenfinch, Goldfinch, Linnet and Reed Bunting, plus a chance of redpoll, Brambling and Siskin. A good spot for raptors moving along the scarp slope. 2 The woodland edge should yield tit flocks, complete with Goldcrest and maybe Firecrest, plus finch and thrush flocks, along with Green and Great Spotted Woodpeckers, Jay and Treecreeper. 3 Check parkland for Little Owl and Nuthatch in the mature oaks. Stock Dove, Green Woodpecker, Redwing, Fieldfare, Mistle Thrush, corvids and woodpeckers feed on the grasslands, along with finches and buntings. Scrub attracts the likes of Woodcock, Firecrest, Bullfinch, Long-tailed Tit and Yellowhammer. 4 Arable farmland can pull in flocks of Lapwing, Golden Plover, Sky Lark, Meadow Pipit, gulls, corvids and partridges.
