Bird Watching (UK)

WAYMARKERS

-

1 As you drive along the entrance track towards the car park, it’s worth checking for migrants and farm birds along the hedges. 2 Walk down the path into Crook Ness checking for local birds and migrants. The flora here is worth looking at. 3 At low tide you can check the beach for waders and passing gulls. Look for any recent rock falls by the cliffs as the beach is good for fossils. 4 Walk to the point where you will see the old coast guard hut. Check the sea for passage or feeding cetaceans. 5 You can walk north along the Cleveland Way checking the fields for buntings and finches. In summer there is a small seabird colony, so look out for breeding birds flying into the cliffs. 6 Before the cliffs drop away, check the view to the north as this part of the coastline is extremely picturesque.
