BLASHFORD LAKES/AVON VALLEY:

A Spoonbill (17th) was the first to land at Blashford. There were three Greenshank­s, Grasshoppe­r Warbler, Redstart, Arctic Tern, three Wheatears, Spotted Flycatcher, two Stonechats, Ringed Plover, Little Ringed Plover, Hobby, Red Kite, Osprey, Raven, four Wigeon, two Oystercatc­hers, Snipe, two Pochards and 271 Tufted Ducks, a record for the time of year.

FARLINGTON MARSHES/LANGSTONE HARBOUR:

There was a Wryneck (23rd-24th). A Great White Egret was at Southmoor (27th). Two Spotted Redshanks, Green Sandpipers, 47 Grey Plovers, four Ruff, Curlew Sandpiper, Little Stint, 13 Knot, Avocet, Bar-tailed Godwit, Wigeon, Pintail, Wheatear, Whinchat, 37 Yellow Wagtails, Spotted Flycatcher, Raven, Lesser Whitethroa­t, Marsh Harrier and Osprey were noted. A Fulmar in the harbour was unusual.

LYMINGTON-MILFORD:

There were three Wood Sandpipers, Grey Plover, Sanderling, Little Ringed Plover, Little Stint, Curlew Sandpipers, and 10 Black Terns. Offshore, Pomarine, Arctic and Great Skua plus three Fulmars were seen from Milford Shelter (20th), with 20 Common Scoter and Shag (24th).

TITCHFIELD HAVEN:

An Aquatic Warbler was ringed (13th). There was Short-eared Owl, Spoonbill, Turtle Dove, Honey Buzzard, Wood Sandpiper, Garganey, Knot, Ruff, five Greenshank­s, six Little Stints, 616 Common, four Sandwich, one Roseate, one Arctic, one Black and 22 Little Terns, Pied Flycatcher, three Crossbills, Gannet, Common Scoter, Arctic Skua and Kittiwakes.

OTHER SITES:

A White Stork flew over Baddesley Common (16th). Great White Egrets were at Fishlake Meadows (15th) and Testwood Lakes (25th-28th). Three Bee-eaters flew over Fareham (14th). A Hoopoe was on Whale Island (25th-26th). A Barred Warbler was at Sinah Common, Hayling Island (27th). A Long-tailed Skua was at Weston Shore (11th). A Spotted Redshank at Testwood Lakes was a site first. Another was at Hook-with-warsash with Curlew Sandpipers. Ospreys were at Fishlake Meadows, Lepe, Chilbolton and Lower Test Marsh. Pied Flycatcher­s were at Ranvilles Lane, Sandy Point and Northney, Hayling Island. A Turtle Dove was at Bramshaw Golf Course. A storm (20th) resulted in Arctic Skua, Manx Shearwater, three Fulmars, 23 Gannets, two Common Scoters and a Kittiwake passing Sandy Point. Arctic Skuas were at Stokes Bay and Weston Shore. A Roseate Tern and Arctic Tern were at Gosport.
