HIGHLIGHTS: A Great White Egret visited Daventry CP (2nd). Stanford Reservoir hosted a Nightjar (12th), the only one in Northants this year, Little Tern (19th) and Wryneck (26th). An ‘Azorean Gull’ was at Stanwick GP (24th-25th), with a Shag (25th-30th). A Pied Flycatcher, the year’s first, was at Denton Wood (31st).

BLUEBERRY FARM, MAIDWELL:

Three Stonechats, four Whinchats, two Redstarts, a Tree Pipit, Wheatear, Crossbill, Grasshoppe­r Warbler, Golden Plover and Hobby were seen.

CLIFFORD HILL GP:

Med and Caspian Gulls visited. Waders included Sanderling, Curlew, Ringed and Little Ringed Plovers, Dunlin, and Green and Common Sandpipers. A Redstart was noted.

DAVENTRY CP:

There was a Garganey (from 25th), two Caspian, seven Yellow-legged and two Med Gulls, Whimbrel, Black-tailed Godwit, seven Green and six Common Sandpipers, four Ringed Plovers, Dunlin and Little Ringed Plover. Redstarts were present on three days.

EARLS BARTON GP:

There was a Spotted Redshank (25th), Little Stint (12th-14th), nine Black-tailed Godwits and a Greenshank. Marsh Harrier, Peregrine and Hobby hunted. There were three Med Gulls, two Yellow-legged Gulls, a Little Gull and 10 Black Terns.

HARRINGTON AIRFIELD:

There was a Black Redstart (30th), two Redstarts, two Whinchats, two Tree Pipits, two Turtle Doves, a Wheatear, Hobby and Marsh Harrier.

HOLLOWELL RESERVOIR:

Ospreys visited twice. There was a Peregrine, Med Gull, Black-tailed Godwit, Greenshank, two Curlews, Green and Common Sandpipers, Dunlin, Ringed Plover, Redstart and Whinchat.

PITSFORD RESERVOIR:

Marsh Harriers were seen three times and Ospreys four. There were six Red-crested Pochards, a Goldeneye, Garganey, Med Gull, Yellow-legged Gull, six Common and two Green Sandpipers, Ringed and Little Ringed Plovers, Dunlin, Curlew, Redstart, Hobby and two Willow Tits.

STANWICK GP:

Three Med, six Caspian and 70 Yellow-legged Gulls were logged. A Turnstone remained for 13 days, and a Greenshank, Ruff, four Green and four Common Sandpipers, a Ringed Plover and Dunlin were recorded.

OTHER SITES:

Sywell CP hosted two Red-crested Pochards, six Crossbills and a Whinchat. Two Whinchats were at Finedon. Borough Hill held two Whinchats and a Redstart. Redstarts were at Eydon (five), Fawsley Park (three) and Twywell. Two were at Hellidon, along with a Marsh Harrier, two Peregrines and two Whinchats. Four Tree Pipits, a Whinchat and Redstart were near Walgrave. Boddington Reservoir had two Med Gulls, two Yellow-legged Gulls and a Common Sandpiper.
